ePrint allows you to print black and white documents for free over the Duke network. While not using an on-campus internet connection, you can still use ePrint if have Duke's VPN Client. Once you add a print job, you may print it from any OIT computer lab using your Duke Card. The print queue nominally lasts for 12 hours, but during times of heavy load it may be reduced to 8 or 6 hours.

Cost
Starting in Fall of 2014 [1]
All documents sent to the ePrint-OIT and ePrint-OIT (2-sided) print queues will be charged at $0.04/page for single-sided and $0.02/page for double-sided printing (minimum cost $0.04). The default free allocation and increase provides up to 1,000 pages of free double-sided printing per semester. Print double-sided to maximize your print allocation and reduce the impact on our environment!
FLEX or public print card charges for black & white print jobs that are unacceptable in quality (low toner, smudging, paper jam, etc.) will be refunded on request. Refund requests are accepted only for charges to FLEX and public print cards, not for charges to free ePrint allocations. Contact the OIT Service Desk to place a refund request.
Color laser printers in Duke's libraries and campus locations charge $0.15 for color printing and copying, $0.06 for black/white printing and copying, and $0.02 for scan to email - all directly to FLEX.
ePrint Locations and Status
Printer stations are located in many academic buildings, dorms, and public spaces. OIT maintains a list at their ePrint Device Status page.
Troubleshooting
My files will not show up! (when printing from Teer computers)
The particular Teer machine you used may have had a full print queue. If you type the command
lpq
there should be no entries; if there are (likely dozens), that particular machine has lost its connection to the ePrint server. Log in to a different Teer machine, type lpq
to check its queue, and print from there if you can.
