About Me

Despite my username I am not from the furthest reaches of the planet but from Tennessee, a measly 5 hours from Durham. There are plenty of people from California, China, and India who would see my 5 hours and scoff, but they could't take my username; they would have to rip it from my cold, dead hands.

I learned Chinese throughout my childhood and German throughout my high school career, but am sad to say neither have really stuck. Maybe in college one of them will, or maybe even both.

Name Pronunciation

My name is spelled Zirui. The common way to pronounce it is like Zuri from the Disney Channel TV Series Jessie. The actual way to pronounce it is the buzzing sound people make when mimicking bees (bzzzzzzzzz) followed by REEE. I consider the first pronunciation to be the one I respond to.
